Lots of "craic" in the comments
There are several very strong myths about our beloved Saint Patrick, #1 His was not Irish. He was born in Wales or Scotland. #2 His name was not Patrick. His given name was Mayween Succat. He took the name Patricus when he was ordained a Priest in France. #3 He never drove the snakes out of Ireland because there were none there. The ecology did not support them. Driving the snakes is a term used in the Bible to "tell a story". The word serpant was used to designate a sinner or someone evil. Hence the snake in the Garden of Eden with Eve,
Tisovertheglen: Looks like granma had Alzheimers. Oliver Plunkett was executed in London, not Drogheda, and Cromwell had been dead for 23 years when Plunkett died.
The only one I guessed at was #8 the Snakes, which I never believed, my theory always was that they were Super sized worms and decided to call them snakes, and where is there a better place in the world to start rumours other than Ireland!!!
