Amanda: Please tell me why Irish travelers and immigrants always go to the most expensive and difficult city in the United States as a starting point. Why wouldn't you go somewhere inviting like Atlanta, Charlotte, Dallas, or Houston? You'd have a job in 24 hours and you'd find the cost of living about 40% of what it is in New York. I hear this story over and over and never seem to get it. I love New York, but only for a long weekend, and I certainly wouldn't wish it on my own kids as a starting point.
