The Irish Red and White Setter

A very similar makeup to the “regular” Irish Setter, except that this dog has spots of mahogany, as opposed to the full coat.

As their fully red counterparts rose to ascendancy, the Irish Red and White decline into obscurity. They would have gone extinct altogether, except for the Herculean efforts of a certain Irish clergyman in the early 20th-century.

The Irish Lurcher

This sight-hound proved an effective companion for hunters. Legend has it that this dog emerged in the 14th century, at a time when the British rule prohibited “commoners” from owning more established sight-hound breeds. Supposedly the Irish Lurcher was bred to circumvent this rule.

The Irish Toy Collie

“Collie” was an old Celtic term for “useful dog,” and this particular breed’s lineage includes some very useful dogs, such as the Shetland Sheepdog, among other talented herders.

The Irish Toy Collie also includes a large amount of Spitz-breed genetics. The result is a vivacious little companion with a sharp mind and sweet personality.

the glen of imaal terrier is an amazing breed..great history
What about the darling Irish Jack Russell Terrier? I thought that was a "real" breed. They seem to be the ubiquitous dog of Ireland - and SO cute with their stubby legs and spunky personality.
The red setter has to my favourite out of those breeds. The Irish toy collie is an interesting one that I had neber heard of before, an interesting dog to me seen as my all time favourite is the border collie
