Irish Coffee was invented in Foynes, Co Limerick by Chef Joe Sheridan in 1943. Foynes was at that time called Shannon Airport and it was where Pan American and BOAC and American Export Airlines flews their flying boats to from New York. Today that airport terminal building houses the Foynes Flying Boat Museum, whose Patron is Maureen O'Hara Blair. We celebrate Irish Coffee here on a daily basis with all our american visitors. Be part of our Gathering in October to celebrate the 70th birthday of Irish Coffee.
