Beautiful and peaceful. One of the last unspoiled places that was for centuries on the edge of the known world. We have been there and want to go back again.

Thats a 'rose tinted' photograph of Connemara, literally. Hipster, thanks for the memory of sheep on the road. I recall following the yellow cats' eyes down the middle of the road only to see a set of green ones in the middle. We almost wore a fleece and had chops for weeks.

What they didn't show were the sheep all over the road from Leenane to Maam Cross as you try to make your way back to Galway at night with a snootful in you. Ha Ha.

Connemara
This piece of land with bog and tree.
Where one can marvel at nature’s spree.
Purple heather on slope and hill.
Where thrush and robin sing their fill.
The fresh of morn
The still of night.
When nocturnal creatures show their plight.
The sounds at dawn when waters lap.
On the lake shore as a swans wings flap
Nature’s beauty beyond compare
Where god has shown his artistic flair.
River, spring, well and lake.
Where countless fish there way they make.
Livestock graze in open view.
In this wilderness there are people few.
So sit a while take it in.
No noises here no city din.
Man made the towns it is his pride.
But god gave us the countryside.
As I sit here upon natures chair.
I know which one I prefer.
