The hospitality is utterly fantastic! If you have NEVER stayed at a B&B, try one. They are absolutely unique and fabulous. Always ask if they have an orthopaedic bed though, as they feel that is what American's want (we don't, or at least this one doesn't).

Out of nine B&B stays ,only had one bad one and I think the woman was either psychotic or it was her time of month!

My wife (a New England Methodist) and I have spent nights at B&Bs at both sides of the Irish Border and have been treated very well in those planes, which are a very good example of Irish hospitality. On a Sunday in Sept. of 2006, we were the only guests at a B&B in Castlebar when the owners were away at a party. Before she left, the woman of the house gave us the keys to the front door and invited us to help ourselves to everything in her fridge.
B&B operators like her do much more to encourage tourists to Ireland that does An Bord Fáilte.

I've had the opportunity to stay in several B&B's in Ireland and must say, they were a wonderful experience. Choice of a B&B or 4 star hotel? Choose the B&B, you most certainly will not regret it!

I love the hospitality of Irish B&Bs
and nothing compares to a good Irish Breakfast.
B&B hosts are great a resource too for advice from someone who knows what and where to go locally - better than most.
