Top reasons why living in the US can make you detest St. Patrick's Day

This weekend millions of people around the world will celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. Almost 40 million people in the U.S. claim Irish heritage, so there is no way of avoiding the March 17 celebrations. From a U.S prospective here are ten reasons why dislike St. Patrick’s Day. - Edward T. Morita Why does everyone try to make a buck off poor auld St. Patrick? In March it seems you can buy almost anything in some shade of green. You don't need a green feather boa to enjoy the day, so save yourself the cash and treat yourself to some good Irish grub instead. - Google Images Consuming green food does not make you Irish! You can eat as many green bagels are you want, but other than entertaining kids, dying food green seems a waste of energy. Why not make your favorite Irish comfort food instead?
- Cathedralsaintpatrick.com Leprechaun’s are a myth – stop the midget madness! These Irish mythical men don’t exist in Ireland, so there is nothing Irish about a midget dressed in green on St. Patrick’s Day. - Leprechaun | Tumblr You cannot get anywhere in the city! From early on the subways, buses and sidewalks are thronged with people. The bars are packed with green clad revelers, which can turn mighty messy as the day progresses.
- Cleveland.com For the love of God, It's not called St. Patty's! Patty is a character from Grease (right). It's called St. Patrick's Day! Not Patty's. If you are going to celebrate the holiday, the least you can do is get the name correct. - Google Images Idiotic t shirts and accessories. There is nothing Irish about some of the merchandise that retails stores sell for St. Patrick’s Day. March 17 doesn’t give you a license to endorse a stereotype and insult a nation. - Urban Outfitters Corned beef is something you put in sandwiches in Ireland not serve with potatoes! Corned beef and cabbage is an Irish dish with an American twist. - Kaukautime.blogspot.com It’s St. Patrick’s Day, not month, weekend, fortnight! People have begun to extend the national Irish holiday far before and beyond March 17. Why isn’t one day of celebrating be enough to get your Irish on?

- Hughoneills.com
