The youngest daughter of Darlene and Franklin, Megan Fox grew up in a Roman Catholic household in the foothills of the Appalachians in the southern United States. Attributing her piercing blue eyes and enviable high cheekbones to her unique cultural background, Fox is of Irish, French, and Native American descent.
After her parents divorced, Fox’s mother remarried which led to a strict upbringing that disallowed friends sleeping over and even having boyfriends. Fox showed an early interest in the Performing Arts, being trained in dance and drama since the age of five. Moving to Florida with her mother at the age of 10, Fox soon after began modelling winning a Modeling and Talent competition at 17.
With problems with peers at school mounting, and a career foreseeable in show business on the horizon, Fox opted out of High School and moved to Los Angeles in order to pursue acting full time.
Making her acting debut alongside the Olsen twins in Holiday in the Sun (2001), Fox’s career was taking off. Soon after she starred in both film and television productions including the comedy series Hope and Faith with Kelly Ripa, and the teen comedy Drama Queen co-starring “It” girl at the time Lindsay Lohan.
Fox’s big break came in 2007 with a lead role in the Hollywood blockbuster Transformers, and reprised her role as Mikaela Barnes in the 2009 sequel Transformer: Revenge of the Fallen. Often criticized as being known for her disparaging comments to the press more than her acting roles, Fox was replaced in the yet to-be-released Transformers film by director Michael Bay after Fox described his directing approach in a not so positive light. Despite this, Fox has subsequently starred in big-budget films such as Jonah Hex, and the video to Eminem’s smash hit Love the Way You Lie. Married to fellow actor Brian Austin Green and stepmother to his son, Fox lives and works in Los Angeles.
