Galway native James Mahon attended the recent National Cornbread Festival in South Pittsburg, Tennessee and admits he did not know what to expect.

Thousands descended on South Pittsburg for the 17th annual cornbread festival which included cornbread cooks-offs.

“I wasn’t sure if it was going to be bread, or if was going to be corn or what I was going to get,” Mahon joked.

The Irish grad works as a reporter for WDEF News 12 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. As well as bringing locals the latest in breaking news, the Galway man does a monthly segment where he explores local favorites through his ‘Irish Eyes.’
