John Shaughnessy Newbridge
John Shaughnessy Newbridge, a native of Ballinasloe, Co Galway who later relocated to Boston, Mass. died on November 12, 2012.

John’s brothers, sisters and extended family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to all those who sympathized with them in their recent sad loss.

Our sincere thanks to the doctors and medical staff of Carney Hospital, Dorchester, Boston who cared for John before his untimely passing.

A special word of thanks to John’s many close friends in Boston, those who visited him in hospital and provided comfort, support and assistance to Mike and Gus on arrival in Boston and for their generosity when arranging his funeral and repatriation back to Ireland. To Fr Dan Finn, Parish Priest, St. Mark’s Church, Dorchester, to Fr. Tommy Conway, Fr Louis Lohan Mississippi and all who traveled from across the USA to attend John’s funeral in Boston. To his former team mates in St Patrick’s GAA Club Boston who sent tokens, Mass cards and flowers, organized tributes, refreshments and provided music at his funeral and all who traveled to Logan Airport for his final journey back to Ireland. Thank you to Gormley’s Undertakers Boston for their service and assistance.

John returned home to Ireland on Saturday 24th November 2012. Sincere thank you to those who attended the removal at Dublin Airport, those who traveled near and far to pay their respects at his funeral in Newbridge on Saturday evening and Sunday morning, those who sent mass cards & letters, to Fr Tom Beirne, Fr Michael Breslin, priests, mass servers, Eucharistic ministers, sacristan and choir in St. Patrick’s Church, Newbridge.

A special word of thanks to Cunningham Undertakers Newbridge for their professional services, to all our local clubs for organizing parking and the guard of honour on both days, to local Garda Siochana and FAS members and to those who carried John’s remains on his final journey to Killyan.

Finally, we wish to extend our very sincerest thanks to our relatives, neighbors and many close friends, those who gave the oration and sang at his graveside and to the gravediggers who prepared John’s final resting place in a caring and fitting manner. Also a special word of thanks to Raymond Mc Conn – Budget/Avis and Newbridge Action Committee for their help, generosity and support at that time.

As it would be impossible to thank everybody individually, please accepts this acknowledgement as a token of our appreciation. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your interests.
