On Tuesday, October 23rd at 7:30 pm, The Irish Social Club will appear before the West Roxbury Neighborhood Council (WRNC) to update the members and attendees about its request for the re-issuance of the club's license that was turned in, along with the entertainment license, by mistake in April of 2011. The West Roxbury Neighborhood Council meets at the Boston Police E-5 Community Room, located at 1708 Centre Street.

The Irish Social Club will then appear before the Licensing Board for the City of Boston on Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at 10 am in the Licensing Board's Hearing Room: 809 A in Boston City Hall. In the near future, the club will also appear before the Mayor's Office of Consumer Affairs and Licensing, the agency that grants entertainment licenses. During this time when the Irish Social Club has no permanent licenses, they have been applying for one-day licenses, for which they are grateful but are tremendously costly. The request for the entertainment license will also be discussed at the WRNC meeting.

The Irish Social Club is grateful for all the support it has received from the West Roxbury residential, business and greater communities as the non-profit organization works very hard to get back on its feet.

Mayor Menino, the entire Boston City Council, through the leadership of President Steve Murphy, and Councillors Matt O'Malley and John Connolly, State Representative Ed Coppinger, State Senator Mike Rush and Governor Deval Patrick were instrumental in helping the non-profit organization get back to normal through the Home Rule Petition process requesting a legislatively granted liquor license. The bill, requesting the re-issuance of the club's license, is advisory in nature and the Irish Social Club must appear before the Licensing Board for the City of Boston to formally request the re-issuance of the license. It is up to the Chair and her commissioners to make the final decision.

If you have not already done so, please consider sending us a letter supporting our efforts to regain our liquor and entertainment licenses. You can email your letter to The Irish Social Club, 119 Park Street, West Roxbury, MA 02132. Thank you in advance for your help.
