Fr. Rick Frechette, Director of NPH Haiti

Friends of the Orphans will hold their 4th Annual Irish Hearts for Haiti Benefit Dance to benefit Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos (NPH, Spanish for “Our Little Brothers and Sisters”) Haiti. The event will take place April 7, 2013 from 4 to 9 p.m. at the Boston Marriott Quincy and will feature live music, Irish dancing, raffles, silent auction, special guests and more.

Friends of the Orphans and NPH are dedicated to transforming the lives of orphaned, abandoned and disadvantaged children by creating families for life, enabling children to transcend poverty and grow into caring, productive members of their communities.

Last year, NPH was able to provide food, shelter, medical care and an education to 850 children living at its home in Haiti. NPH in Haiti was also able to educate 600 children at the Father Wasson’s Angels of Light (FWAL) School, 364 children at the Saint Helene External School, and 102 children with disabilities at the St. Germaine School. In addition, NPH Haiti provided medical care to an astounding 99,037 people at its St. Damien Hospital, the premier pediatric hospital in Haiti.

“Over the years, we have heard many stories about the children that Friends of the Orphans supports,” said Patricia Flatley, the newest Friends of the Orphan regional board member. “When we heard that the NPH homes were forced to make cuts to programs and services due to a budget shortfall, we had to help. We are thrilled to take the lead in supporting a non-profit organization that helps children transcend poverty while providing them with the spiritual concept and guidance of giving back to others in need – often to the next generations of children at the homes.”
