Matt Cranitch and Jackie Daly.

A new setting for traditional Irish music will be unveiled this month at the ICC. Matt Cranitch on fiddle and Jackie Daly on button accordion will create an intimate evening of music and storytelling in the authentic Irish Cottage at the Irish Cultural Centre of New England in Canton, Massachusetts on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $30 per person.

Known for their vibrant music and storytelling, Matt and Jackie are the perfect performers to bring the ICCNE’s cottage alive with musical tradition. They are proponents of the Sliabh Luachra style of traditional Irish music from northwest Cork and east Kerry. Jackie Daly has performed with renowned Irish groups De Danann, Patrick Street, Buttons and Bows, Arcady, Reel Union and Kinvara, as well as at festivals such as the Catskills Irish Arts Week in East Durham, NY. Matt Cranitch has won numerous All-Ireland Fleadh Cheoil music competitions and is a sought-after fiddle teacher, lecturer, and performer throughout the Irish music world.

The Matt Cranitch and Jackie Daly duo travelled extensively on tours in the U.S. during the 2011 Imagine Ireland celebration of Irish arts in America.
