A gang of thieves have been traveling around Ireland in high-powered Volvos and BMWs, wearing formal suits robbing as many homes as they can between the hours of 9am and 2pm while the homes are empty.

The gangs are focusing on cash and jewelery and usually force a rear window of the home to gain entrance. It seems that the gang is highly mobile stealing in County Mayo on Monday, Cork on Tuesday and Cavan on Wednesday.

A senior police source said the gang is based in Dublin and treats this round the country burglary as a way of life.  In recent weeks the police have had some luck and have nabbed some of the gang members.

It is believed that if they do get noticed snooping around a house they are manned with fake business cards and pretend they are carrying out enhancements on the properties.
