Highly acclaimed singer-songwriter Declan O’Rourke will perform at the Berklee School of Music on Thursday April 11. Since the release of his debut album “Since Kyabram” in 2004, the Dublin born O’Rourke has become a highly respected musician in the industry with three critically and commercially successful albums.

Since starting out on the Open Mic circuit in Dublin, O’Rourke has gone from strength to strength. His debut single ‘Galileo (Someone Like You),’ has been covered by numerous famous artists including Josh Groban, Paul Weller and Chris Rea.

Such was the critical and commercial success of Since Kyabram in Ireland that it opened the doors for him internationally, earning him plaudits from the likes of Snow Patrol, Kate Rusby and DJs Jonathan Ross and Edith Bowman, each of whom were rapturous in their praise of Declan’s deep-honey voice and astute song writing abilities.
April 2012's edition of Mojo Magazine featured a compilation album of ‘Modfather’ Paul Weller’s favorite songs, in which Weller is quoted as saying “He writes the sort of classic songs that people don’t write anymore, songs that sound like they’ve been around forever [...] Listen to Galileo, which is possibly the greatest song written in the last 30 years.”

Declan O’Rourke will be performing from 7:45pm in The Red Room @Cafe 989, Berklee School of Music. Tickets $12. Call the box office on 617-747-6038.
