Lanvin cookies
I dream about designer handbags pretty regularly. I also dream about cookies and other fun, edible things so you can image my excitement when I found something that combined the two. Beautiful, sweet, yummy, designer bags.

You might fancy nibble of Lanvin, perhaps a lick of  YSL or maybe some Alexander McQueen action? No problem. Kaleidoscope Bakery is your one-stop designer cookie shop and my current obsession.

Each cookie is made lovingly by the very talented Kay O'Grady, sister of jewellery designer, Merle, whose jewellery has been worn by everyone from Cheryl Cole to Florence Welch.  Talented sisters are the best.

The O’Grady sisters grew up in Dalkey, and both have spent time in London but Kay returned to Dublin last year. Her passion was always for making things – especially in the kitchen. She also used teach drama and work in nurseries and primary schools and loved nothing more than to play with dough, cutting out unique shapes which then led to making cookies.

Merle also maintained a love for crafts and their house was brimming with lamps, butter dishes and silk paintings. Merle's jewellery is a personal favourite of mine and I have my eye on the "Templo" neckplate from her Spring/Summer collection. It's perfect for dressing up a simple tee or over a beautiful coloured blouse like here...

Their Mum handmade rugs, upholstered the furniture, built coffee tables and she taught both sisters how to make clothes from a young age. Definitely what you’d call a family full of crafty women!

It was when Kay became unemployed that she started making cookies to pass the time. Soon, friends and family wanted them for presents, then a friend asked her to make a batch of cookies in the shape of shoes and bags for a new art, fashion and culture magazine called Argon she was helping set up. Since then Kay’s stylish cookies have been taken the fashion world by storm and she's quickly build a diverse client base from Brown Thomas and Swatch, to charities Plan and Movember.

It wasn’t long before the Kaleidoscope Bakery was born and let me tell you, even the most calorie conscious of fashionistas won’t be able to resist these bad boys! You can even customize your orders and design your very own cookies. And it isn’t all just fashion; from origami bird cookies to mustache cookie pops, there is something for everyone!

My favorites; the Prada snakeskin boots and Christopher Kanes glitter squiggle bag (below). For more information, head over to Kaleidoscope Bakery
