Irish President Michael D. Higgins at the 2012 Change-Maker's Ball

Join hundreds of people from across Massachusetts for the Second Annual Boston Change-Maker’s Ball on May 10th in support of Self Help Africa’s vital work across Africa.

At last year’s Change Maker’s Ball, the recently-inaugurated Irish President, Michael D Higgins described the work of Self Help Africa as "truly remarkable" and paid tribute to those attending the 2012 event which was, he said, supporting efforts to "fight poverty and hunger by helping rural African communities to drive their own change and to help themselves".

"These are really great nights and I think everyone has a lot of fun at them. But the important thing to remember is that because of these events, people across Africa will end 2013 in a much better position than they entered it," says Ray Jordan, Self Help Africa CEO. "That's a direct result of the effort people make to come and support events like this. I think it's something that Boston can be very proud of."

Tickets are now on sale for the Boston event where guests will enjoy a cocktail reception, gourmet dinner, live and silent auctions, dancing to live music, and the signature Change-Maker’s Cocktail.

Prizes on the night will include a Boston Red Sox game in the General Manager’s Suite with drinks and dinner included; a weekend getaway trip to New York City which includes VIP tickets to the David Letterman Show; spa treatments; fashion apparel; golf outings and many more exciting prizes.

The glamorous black-tie event is Friday May 10th at 7pm and will be held again this year at the Fairmont Copley Hotel in the famous Back Bay area of Boston.
