'Green Ispini' - an NYC-based band made up of Oran Kennedy (Dublin), Simon Kelly (Wexford) and New York’s Ian Fiebelkorn – will perform on Saturday, March 16th as part of the Irish Network’s (IN-NYC) - St. Patrick’s Day festivities. The trio will be live at The Trinity Place Bar in the Financial District at 115 Broadway; entrance is on Cedar Street just west of Broadway.
The event will kick off with an open bar from 7-9pm, generously donated by proprietor, Jason O’ Brien.
'Amadans and Bodhrans' will follow 'Green Ispini' and a live DJ will take the crowd into the early hours of the night.
'Amadáns and Bodhráns' includes two Munster men, Michael Murtagh and James Powell, who are determined to let people know that “Craic agus Ceol” is back in vogue! This unique band blends traditional Irish tunes with country and rock n roll classics to create their "folk n roll" genre.
Last year, 'Green Ispini' celebrated St. Patrick’s Day by performing in front of a full house in uptown Manhattan at The Shrine bar in Harlem. They played everything from 'Dirty Old Town' to 'The Auld Triangle', with some contemporary classics by Brooklyn band 'Yay Sayers' and others in between.
The event is free for IN-NYC members. There is a $20 fee for non-members at the door which includes drinks specials.
The IN-NYC is a community of young professionals; Irish, Irish-American and Friends of Ireland that offers networking and contact opportunities. New members are always welcome. Annual membership for the IN-NYC costs just $50 and includes access to all their events throughout the year. You won’t find a better deal in NYC!
