How I survived my first St. Patrick’s Day in NYC

I tend to agree, it’s a lot of marching and a lot of rules. Someone needs to bring the fun factor to the NYC parade in the coming years.

My own personal fun came from the experience of being a young reporter on the beat and learning from some of the best in the business. There is a sense of camaraderie among fellow journalists and this made me proud to be Irish this St Patrick’s Day in New York.

That’s the thing about being Irish, we look after our own. I felt like the five year old who had got his bag of sweets as I sat to file copy on the 2014 New York St Patrick’s Day parade.
