The nineteenth annual Black and Green community building event on Sunday, May 5th, 2013 is co-organized by the Irish International Immigrant Center and the Montserrat Aspirers as a unique afternoon bringing together Boston’s diverse communities for an afternoon of making new friends, discussion, entertainment and sharing a meal. It will take place from 2:00 to 5:00pm at the Montserrat Aspirers Hall, 364 Washington St., Dorchester, MA 02124.
 
The program will feature music and presentations centering on the theme Immigration: Our Shared History, Stories and Future. The afternoon will include a discussion regarding comprehensive immigration reform with presentations by Reverend John McCarthy from the Irish Pastoral Centre and members of the Student Immigrant Movement .
 
The Irish International Immigrant Center and the Montserrat Aspirers are partnering with others to help push for comprehensive immigration reform for the millions of people currently living in the US and to assist future generations of immigrants.
 
Throughout its long history, the Irish International Immigrant Center has worked to build bridges of trust, healing and friendship between diverse communities with events like the Black and Green as well as a bi-monthly series of cross-cultural, community-building events with Irish and other immigrant groups.
