The most Googled band in Ireland, Kodaline, lent their song to Google's annual Zeitgeist showing "how the world searched" in 2012. The music is an instrumental version of the song "All I Want."

The video shows a wide-range of events, people and conflicts that dominated the new this week.

Just some of the top searched topics were Felix Baumgartner's world-record jump, the protests in Syria and Greece, the 2012 Summer Olympics, the Mars Rover landing, Pussy Riot, the launch of SpaceX's Dragon capsule and the elections in the United States, Egypt and France.

Google reports that there were 1.2 trillion Google searches in 146 languages in 2012.
