The 27-year-old actor – who first worked as a model before finding fame in movies such as 'The Twilight Saga' – says he never planned to make a career of it but just wanted to get close to the opposite sex.

He told Germany's GQ magazine: “I became a model to meet girls. “I was simply still young. I did it without a plan for a career of any form.”

While he once struggled to meet girls, Robert doesn't have any trouble getting attention these days.

Following his split from Kristen Stewart, he was linked to Riley Keough and his 'Maps To The Stars' co-star Sarah Gadon, who he has been close to since meeting on the set of 'Cosmopolis' in 2011.

A source said: "There's a real spark between them. And they've already been spending time together when filming ends for the day.

"They have become very close. When there's a break in filming, they'll often sit on their own and chat. Sarah's really into the arts and literature, which Rob loves. And they even talk about English soccer
together because she watches games on TV. They have a lot in common."

Robert has also been spending time with 'The OC' beauty Mischa Barton, although they are reportedly just friends.

A source told E! News: “Rob is very low-key and just wants to be with friends right now.

“He is extremely cool and laid-back and hasn’t been overly flirting with lots of girls or anything. He just wants to enjoy himself and be with good people.”
