The gorgeous couple Prince William and Duchess Catherine
(Kate Middleton) awaiting their first born

The world has gone gaga over Kate Middleton and Prince William’s baby and, more importantly, what the much loved couple are going to call the baby.

The British bookmakers Ladbrokes are offering good odds on family names such as Victoria (9-1) and James and George if it is a boy. Other names being bandied about are Diana, Elizabeth, Alice, Mary, Charles and Philip. Barack is being given 200-1 and Elvis, at a longshot 500-1.

Of course we got it into our heads, what about Irish names for the incoming royal arrival. Seeing as his / her father is a Colonel of the Irish Guards and wore their dashing red tunic for their fairytale wedding.

According to the Central Statistics Office in Ireland top names for babies in Ireland in 2012 were as follows:

Boys: Jack, James, Daniel, Sean and Conor

Girls: Emily, Sophie, Emma, Grace, Lily

James is already getting good odds at the bookies but what are the chances of having a member of the royalty with a name like Sean or Conor? Probably slim, we'd guess.

As for a Princess Aoife, Aisling or Siobhan? Our guess is we’ll be waiting some time.
