Russell Crowe once told 'Pitch Perfect' star Rebel Wilson to “f**k off”

The 'Pitch Perfect' actress studied comedy in New York after winning a scholarship funded by fellow Australian Nicole Kidman and when she spotted the actress having dinner with Russell in a restaurant, Rebel thought it would be the perfect time to thank her.

However, she told chat show host Jay Leno, Russell didn't even allow her to speak before telling her to “f**k off.'

Rebel explained: “I won a scholarship and I got to go to New York to study comedy and Nicole Kidman paid for everything.

“One time in Sydney I saw her having dinner with Russell Crowe and I thought 'Now's my chance', so I went up to them but before I say anything, Russell just turned to me and went 'f**k off'. So I just put my head down and walked away. That's a true story.”

Rebel is preparing to host the upcoming MTV Movie Awards where she will reunite with her 'Pitch Perfect' co-stars Anna Kendrick, Skylar Astin, Anna Camp and Brittany Snow as they reprise their roles as rival a cappella groups, The Barden Bellas and Treblemakers.

The film is nominated for four MTV Movie Awards including Best Female and Best Breakthrough Performances for Rebel, Best Musical Moment and Best WTF Moment.

Following the performances, fans will be able to view the performances via MovieAwards.MTV.com and Artists.MTV.

The MTV Movie Awards will be shown on MTV UK on Monday,  April 15 at 9pm.
