Harry Styles

The 19-year-old One Direction star is said to have bid £150,000 so he can join a number of other big names, including Ashton Kutcher, Brad Pitt and Justin Bieber, on Sir Richard Branson's Virgin Galactic spacecraft next year.

A source said: "Harry heard about the voyage a while ago but something triggered his interest in the past few weeks.

"He's got no idea if it's realistic with it being so close - with his obligations to the band - but he's willing to move things around to make it happen."

It seems the star may not make the cut as that price isn't quite enough.

The source explained: "Unfortunately for Harry you need more than money to get a seat at this point as it's already so late in the game."

However, if he enlists the help of media mogul Simon Cowell he might stand a chance to get a seat on the aircraft.

A source told the The Daily Star Sunday newspaper: "Harry is happy to fork out the cash for it - he's loaded. He just needs Simon to help him seal the deal."

The rest of One Direction which includes Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne and Niall Horan, are not as keen on the space adventure.

The source added: "The rest of the guys aren't too fussed. It's a lot of money and they would rather spend it on other things.

"But they're happy for Harry and hope he gets his dream."
