Harry Styles

The One Direction star has picked up a new hobby during the US leg of the band's 'Take Me Home' world tour - scouring each city he plays in for brass instruments to decorate his home.

A source told the Daily Star newspaper: "Harry loves all things vintage and specialist horns are his latest obsession. He's been sending out the band's security in each US city to scour shops for the premium items as well as other retro products like flags."

It appears the 19-year-old pop star is preparing for life after One Direction - which also consists of Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson - as he considers the pricey musical props an "investment" in his future.

The source explained: "They're a great financial investment for him. Buying vintage instruments is like collecting art. They're worth a fortune and the US is home to some of the most sought-after collectables."

Harry's new hobby has also reawakened his passion for another instrument - the saxophone - and the singer is eager to take lessons so he can add the skill to his already impressive musical resume.

The source added: "He's always wanted to play the sax but never got anywhere with it. But since building up his horn collection it's rekindled his interest and now he's looking to find a good teacher."
