The wax statues of One Direction at Madame Tusaud's in London

Boyband One Direction have been the cause of much tears in their immortalised state at Madame Tussauds in London.

The waxworks of band members Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan were unveiled in April 2013 and have since been the source of much excitement from dedicated fans, so much so that Madame Tussauds has appointed a special attendant to hand out tissues to sobbing fans. An "emergency" supply of 150 boxes has been supplied to the museum for the employee to look after and pass to visitors, reports the Belfast Telegraph.

The One Direction waxworks are doing a world tour of a different type and will soon go to New York City, where they will stay until October 11, before moving to Sydney on October 24.
More "tour dates" will be announced in the future. The boys themselves are currently on their “Take Me Home” tour, which starts its North American leg in Mexico on June 8.
