Lindsay Lohan as Elizabeth Taylor
The 'Mean Girls' actress underwent a huge transformation to play Dame Elizabeth Taylor in the new film, including changing her eye colour to match those of the late actress.

New York Post columnist Cindy Adams revealed: "Lindsay's yellow hair, red hair, auburn hair got dyed dark for the film.

"But what you don't know is, she was fitted with violet-coloured contact lenses."

As well as the physical changes, Lindsay will have spent a lot of time in the wardrobe department during filming as she had a staggering 66 costume changes in the biopic.

Movie bosses recently admitted the costumes were a key part of the film.

Producer Larry Thompson said: "Part of the magic is the wardrobe. And Lindsay wants to bring magic to the movie."

The 80-minute television film recounts the tumultuous relationship between Elizabeth - who died in March 2011 aged 79 - and Richard Burton.

The pair were married twice, from 15 March 1964 to 26 June 1974 and from 10 October 1975 to 29 July 1976 and had a famously turbulent relationship.

'True Blood' hunk Grant Bowler plays the Welsh actor in the movie.
