Kristen Stewart is officially starring in the sequel
of 'Snow White and the Huntsman'
Universal Pictures chairman Adam Fogelson confirmed the 23-year-old actress - who had a brief fling with the first film's director Rupert Sanders that resulted in the end of his marriage to model Liberty Ross last year - is taking on the lead role again in the second installment of the film, which will be released in 2015.
According to gossip website JustJared.com, the studio executive confirmed Kristen has signed on to the star in the film at the CinemaCon presentation in Las Vegas on Tuesday but did not clarify whether Chris Hemsworth or Charlize Theron will reprise their roles as the huntsman and the evil queen.
Kristen, who has mended her relationship with her boyfriend Robert Pattinson following her affair, revealed she was excited about the sequel and predicted it would be "amazing".
She said in December: "It's gonna be f**king amazing. No, I'm so excited about it, it's crazy. The other day I said that there was a strong possibility that we're going to make a sequel, and that's very true, but everyone was like, 'Whoa, stop talking about it.' So no, I'm totally not allowed to talk about it."
It was previously reported that Rupert will not direct the sequel, despite the huge success of the first film.
