Glenn Close as Albert Nobbs
The 65-year-old actress has co-written and produced the movie, as well as playing a woman forced to live as a man in order to work in 19th century Ireland - a role she previously played on Broadway 30 years ago - and says she has always believed in the project and how it could capture an audience.

She said: "There are many people who are invisible and have no rights. This is a story of a citizen's survival.

"I believed in its potential to take everyone on a sensuous, funny, heart-breaking, wildly unexpected ride. It was the first time I've produced a film and I'm very proud of having done it."

One of Glenn's most famous roles is of stalker Alex Forrest in 1987 movie 'Fatal Attraction' and the actress believes it marked a turning point for the types of roles she was offered.

She added to HELLO! magazine: "Before it, producers didn't see me as sexy. The movie showed them I could be."
