The singer/songwriter suffered a broken nose and cuts to his face following an assault in New York, but despite suffering from concussion he is now in a better state.


A statement from his publicist read: “Gavin DeGraw is currently recovering and in stable condition at Bellevue Hospital where he was taken late Sunday night by ambulance after he was attacked by a group of assailants."

He wrote on twitter: "Hi my friends. Honestly, I don't remember much. I only know I can recover from here. Thank u all for your genuine concern. I love u guys. (sic)"

A statement from his publicist revealed police are currently investigating the assault and added that Gavin would cancel some planned tour dates this week.


It said: "He suffers from a concussion, broken nose, black eyes, cuts and bruises. The police are conducting an investigation of the attack.


"Gavin and his family appreciate everyone's concern at this time.


"As a result of Gavin's injuries, he won't be performing in Wantagh, New York, on August 12 or Mansfield, Massachusetts, on August 13."
