The man accused of trying to extort $25million from John Travolta has accused doctors of attempting to cover up his son’s death in order to “make a lot of money”.

Jet Travolta, 16 died on January 2nd 2009 after suffering a seizure and hitting his head on the bathtub in the Travolta family home at the Old Bahama Resort Hotel. The teenager had long suffered from a rare lymph node disorder called Kawasaki disease.

Tarino Lightbourne 48, a former paramedic claims that Jet may have been dead at least three hours before paramedics arrived. Lightbourne, 48 was on the scene when Jet Travolta died during a family vacation in the Bahamas.

In an interview with the London Daily Mail Lightbourne said “The boy’s eyes were fixed and dilated, I noticed dry blood stains around both his ears and nostrils and the sides of his mouth and the body was already in a state of rigor mortis. That usually happens about three hours after death.”

Lightbourne insists that he overheard other medical personnel at the scene suggest that Travolta was going to pay them to keep the details of Jet’s death quiet.

Soon after his son’s death Travolta launched an extortion case against Lightbourne which has since been dropped.

Despite a few interviews, Travolta and his wife Kelly Preston have never spoken publicly about the case. The couple announced in May that they are expecting another child.
