Peaches Geldof and her husband Thomas Cohen in Dublin last weekend.

Bob Geldof’s daughter Peaches has done a lot of living in her 24 years, and now it seems the former wild child has settled down once and for all.

Peaches used to make headlines for all the wrong reasons – alleged drug abuse, falling out of nightclubs, a quickie marriage when she was a teen – but these days she’s a devoted mom of two sons who shuns her former way of life.

Peaches was in her dad’s hometown of Dublin last weekend for an interview in which she discussed her life as a former model, writer and party girl.

“I do think that a lot of my life was spent working,” she said. “Between working I was drifting around, going to different countries, I lived in America a lot and I kept moving back to the U.K., and I was sort of rootless.

“And then when I had my children I was really anchored into one place, and my husband as well was keeping me there.  Through that I found a really big sense of serenity and peace and became the sort of earth mother which no one would ever have predicted. It's definitely the best thing I've ever done.”

Her two boys carry the tradition of wacky Geldof names. Astala Dylan Willow is 18 months, and his baby brother Phaedra Bloom Forever is six months.  Their dad is Peaches’ husband, Thomas Cohen, a musician.

Being pregnant was hardly peachy keen, she said. “I had two quite traumatic pregnancies. With my first pregnancy I had something called hyperemesis gravidarum, which everyone knows about now because Kate Middleton had it as well,” Peaches revealed.

“And then with my second child it was a lot easier. But I had a sort of thyroid problem, which is quite good actually because you can eat whatever you want, you don't have to have medication and you just don't gain any weight, ever.”
