Charlie Sheen’s has received his sentence for the “Christmas Day Incident” where he assaulted his wife. He will spend 30 days in rehab, 30 days on probation and undertake 36 hours of anger management classes.

Outside the Pitkin County Courthouse in Colorado Sheen waved and blew kisses to the crowds, making a peace sign. He wore a dark suit, shirt and purple tie.

After the hearing he issued a statement which read “I'm very grateful to the court and to the people of Pitkin County…I look forward to complying with the court's decision, getting on with my life and putting this behind me."

The charges for assault arose from an incident on Christmas Day last year. Sheen’s wife, Brooke Mueller Sheen said that her husband threatened to kill her after she told him she wanted a divorce. She said that he straddle her on the bed, holding a knife with one hand on her throat.

According to the arrest warrant affidavit Sheen claims that they bought slapped each other on the arms and admitted that he snapped two pairs of her reading glasses in front of her.
