’30 Rock’ star Alec Baldwin can't wait to be a dad again

The 55-year-old 'Orphans' actor - whose 29-year-old wife Hilaria Thomas is expecting their first child together - regrets missing out on so much of his 17-year-old daughter Ireland's childhood because of his issues with her mother Kim Basinger and plans to be very involved with raising his new baby.

He told The Hollywood Reporter: "It's really like a dream come true. Because as much as I have struggled as a divorced parent--and God knows, I've had my ups and downs--the only thing that I regret was that I missed so much of my daughter's childhood because of this contentious situation."

Alec also opened up about his relationship with Ireland, who recently signed a modelling contract, and said that he wants her to still get an education despite being tipped for big things.

He said: "The business is not as easy, so I hope if she likes it she hangs in there. But we'll see. I just would like her to finish college, so she has something to fall back on."

The former '30 Rock' star also opened up about his future and admitted he is interested in having his own chat show amid rumours he recently had "conversations" with NBC about taking over the slot currently occupied by 'Carson Daly's Last Call' after impressing network chiefs with his podcast series.

He said: "It depends on the format and who it was for and what the schedule was like. Those guys that do talk shows have that terrible condition where they have to pretend everybody's special. I don't know if I could do that."
