Desmond Connell's behavior was Cardinal sin in Irish Catholic Church scandal

The horrendous consequences of the latest scandal in the Irish Catholic Church are still unfolding.

There are now serious concerns for the future viability of the Church in Ireland as the latest sordid revelations have come forth and continue to spill out.

However, there is particular anger being directed toward Cardinal Desmond Connell, who was at the epicenter of the Dublin Archdiocese allegations when he was archbishop there.

Connell’s evidence to the Murphy tribunal is seen as an attempt to weasel out of any responsibility for the cover-up of pedophile priests.

In one celebrated piece of verbal trickery, Connell told the tribunal the following, "There may be circumstances in which you can use an ambiguous expression realizing that the person who you are talking to will accept an untrue version of whatever it may be."

What does that mean? It means the cardinal found a way to lie about his involvement in the cases, pure and simple. and that he used every canon lawyer’s trick in the book to evade responsibility.

Any wonder the Church is in dire trouble with men like that at the head of it?

not good enough kickstar, do unto him as they have done unto us. Burn them alive, hang them, sell them into slavery, see how they like it...
This Vermin has to be cleaned out and Jailed, About 10 years hard labor would suit this Rat, This cover up Supremo, This Facilitator of Crimes against Children. "Suffer unto me the little Children" Jesus Said. "And woe be unto to him who harms a hair on their head" Cardinal Coverup O Connell.
This was rampant in boarding schools in the 1960 and 1970s. Who would believe a 13 year old who was crazy enough to speak up> Those in authority swept it under the table. At most, 10% of the church were bad eggs, supported by those who allowed the corruption to destroy the work of the good dedicated men and women who lives up to their vows. If you thought that Christ was angry in the temple 2000 years ago - what do you think he would do today with those who would destroy young lives? Absolute power corrupts absolutely.
they are from the same organized crime family...with their glib remarks and dark maneuvers and manipulations...Egan's testimony in CT, Law's public remarks in MA and Connell in Dublin and I'm blocking his name in Limerick... They sound eerily a like because they got their material and cues from the same exact playbook and Vatican lawyers! They all have to go and must be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Here is a great analogy. If a Karate master commits a violent crime he is held to a higher standard because of the power and strength that he possesses and abused!
