A "Young People's Assembly," organized by the "We're Not Leaving" campaign, was held in Dublin on Saturday.

A "Young People's Assembly" was held in Dublin on Saturday to discuss ways to combat youth unemployment, forced emigration and cuts to youth services.

Organized by the "We're Not Leaving" campaign, the assembly, held at Liberty Hall, was supported by youth committees of trade unions, the Union of Students in Ireland, and organisations such as SpunOut.

The Irish Times reports that on Friday, the hashtag "werenotleaving trended on Twitter in Dublin and Ireland as the group promoted the event. Also on Friday,  protesters standing outside the Dáil took to ripping up letters from the Department of Social Protection advising them of jobs abroad.

The assembly featured workshops on areas of concern to young people and a general meeting to discuss plans of action to address the issues.
