The US Marshals Service has received details of one of the suspects in the murder of Adrian Donohoe, the Garda detective who was murdered outside a credit union in Co Louth in January.
One of the suspects in the killing, a man in his early 20s, is believed to have fled to the US last month and was believed to have traveled to New York. Irish police alerted the FBI and the New York Police Department. The NYPD also warned the US Marshals, who are responsible for the apprehension of fugitives.
The Irish Independent reports that the suspect's details are with the Marshals Service and if he leaves New York or overstays his 90-day holiday visa, he will be arrested and deported back to Ireland.
Two other suspects in the case are believed to have fled to Australia.
