A 13-year-old self-taught programmer from Waterford is to speak at the prestigious 20th TiEcon conference in California, where he will address the senior executives of LinkedIn, Amazon, Netflix, and PayPal, among others.

According to Silicon Republic, Jordan Casey, the CEO of Casey Games, became one of the youngest entrepreneurs to publish an app, called Alien Ball Vs Humans, on the Apple App Store last year.

Casey is the youngest entrepreneur ever to speak at the conference and he will address the 4,000 delegates on ‘Things I learned the hard way as a young CEO.’

Most recently Casey has been working with UK coder Aidan Blackett, 15, on Food World, an Irish online virtual world for kids.

From De La Salle School in Waterford, the teenager has been asked to speak at a number of international gaming events worldwide. He has been programming since the age of 9.

The teenager will speak at the 20th Annual TiEcon conference, which credits itself as the world’s largest conference for entrepreneurs, held in Santa Clara, California which takes place on 17 and 18 May.
