A new survey has revealed the top five American products that are most popular across the Atlantic. The results of a new independent survey show that cola is the most popular food product to come from the U.S.
The countdown was as follows:
1. Cola
2. Chocolate, for example Hershey's
3. Burgers
4. Peanut butter
5. Cakes, such as Twinkies.
The survey conducted by Cott Beverages Ltd asked 1,000 respondents from the UK and Ireland to choose their favorite food stuffs.
Over 40 percent of those surveyed said they would like to see more U.S. products available to them.
Speaking about the findings, Sundeep Gill, assistant brand manager for Cott Beverages Ltd. said: "The rise in popularity in Britain of all things vintage American – think of Mad Men, cheerleaders and cupcakes – fits like a dream with the launch of RC® cola in the UK, as British consumers can now buy an American drink with the perfect retro look, feel and taste they've been searching for."
