Ted Kennedy Jr. will preside  — and Irish tenor Ronan Tynan will sing in his first New York engagement since his controversial firing by the New York Yankees — at a memorial Mass for the late Sen. Edward Kennedy.

The Mass will be held Nov. 12 at Holy Trinity Church in New York, and will be hosted by the Emerald Isle Immigration Center and the Brehon Law Society.

The younger Kennedy’s stirring eulogy for his father at his funeral Mass in August ignited talk of a political career for Kennedy. This will be his first public appearance since then.

Tynan has been in the spotlight in recent weeks because of an incident in which he made an offensive remark to a Jewish apartment hunter in his building. He apologized, and his apology was recently accepted by the Anti-Defamation League.

However, he has not been asked back to Yankee Stadium, where he usually performed "God Bless America."

It is not known if Kennedy's surviving sister, Jean Kennedy Smith will attend.
