    WEATHER Storms 2...Heavy winds today heralded the expected arrival of torrential rain which was due to sweep across the country over the next two days As trees swayed in gusts of up to 50mph, the Highways Agency and motoring organisations warned drivers to take extra care. Forecasters warned of floods and plunging temperatures as a deep depression swept in from the south.
