Broke billionaire Sean Quinn ended up in Mountjoy Prison on Saturday – visiting his son Sean Jr.

As a jail sentence hangs over Quinn Sr’s head, the failed businessman went to see his son in the training unit at the Dublin jail.

Sean Quinn Jr received a three month sentence for contempt of court with Quinn Sr facing a similar time inside if he fails to comply with a court order in a row with the former Anglo Irish Bank.

The Fermanagh man, once Ireland’s richest person, admitted on Friday that he fears going to jail.

And he tried to keep a low profile on Saturday as he accompanied his wife Patricia and daughter-in-law Karen on a visit to Mountjoy.

Quinn looked relaxed as he visited his son for the first time since he was sentenced but he refused to answer questions before the two hours visit.

The family later released a statement which read: “Today we visited our son Sean for the first time in Mountjoy Prison, It was a difficult day for myself and my wife Patricia.

“We arrived at the prison early for our scheduled visit as we were not familiar with the protocol in the prison. After our visit we waited inside the jail hoping for some of the media to leave.”
