Former Alaskan governor Sarah Palin said that the U.S is due a female president, when she addressed a business forum in South Korea this week.

The 2008 running mate of presidential candidate John McCain announced earlier this month that she would not run for president in the 2012 election. She did not elaborate on the reasons why she decided not to run in the upcoming election.

Speaking at the World Knowledge Forum on Tuesday, Palin said that there "will be a woman president of the United States of America, and I look forward to that day." She also said she looks forward to a "regime change" in North Korea and described the citizens as “the first victims” of the dictatorship.

During her address Palin urged Americans and those around the globe to fight a system that doesn’t reward “honest hard work” but is “favoring the politically connected”.

She said, “well-connected banks get bailed out (and) certain companies get special deals through governments,” also, taxpayer dollars are “given to companies that are run by politicians’ campaign contributors so often.”

In return, lobbyists and politicians “slip sweet deals and tax breaks into the tax code that they get to help to write”.
