In the coming episode producer O’Connell drops in on the Irish Voice's 25th anniversary, talks to emigrants for whom the paper meant a lot in the 1980s and 1990s, as well as some hardline Republicans who were protesting against the Queen’s jubilee. The documentary also hears from one Irish person on the run for over two decades, and speaks with Pulitzer Prize winning New York Times journalist Jim Dwyer.

Producer Brian O'Connell said of his time in New York: “We touch on issues such as the undocumented Irish living in New York, the ways emigrants keep in touch with home more easily now and what the future may hold for papers such as The Irish Voice.

“There's also a wonderful contribution from New York Times journalist Jim Dwyer and  I spent an interesting afternoon in Gaelic Park in the Bronx, meeting players and coaches."

O’Connell added: “It was fascinating to see and hear from reporters and the editor of the Irish Voice about how the role of the title has changed and how IrishCentral.com is now connecting with a really wide audience of Irish Americans and Irish in America.”
