A year after the Air France Flight 447 crashed in the Atlantic, 13 stars of “Riverdance” will run the Dublin Mini-Marathon in her memory.

Doctor Eithne Walls, a doctor at the Eye and Ear Hospital and “Riverdance” dancer, was one of the 228 people killed on the flight that crashed into the Atlantic Ocean en route from Brazil to France on June 1 2009.

Fellow “Riverdance” star and childhood friend of Walls, Nicola Byrne, is till coming to terms with friend’s death.

“Even a full year later it still hasn't sunk in that Eithne's gone…."It's such a loss and just unbelievable because she was such a lovely person. She was a really talented dancer,” said Byrne.

“We traveled all around the world together in “Riverdance” and she was always such a bubbly, happy character.

“It will be nice for all of her friends to meet up on Monday and remember the good times we had with her over the years.”

Dervla McGee, Aisling McVeigh, Caitlin Nic Gabhann, Michelle Buffini and Carla O'Brien are among the 13 dancers running in Walls’ memory, along with Walls’ sister Kathryn.
