The World Economic Forum, Travel and Tourism Competitiveness Report, reveals to traveling foreigners the countries to expect to find friends and the countries to expect to find foes.

The report used a scale of 1-7 with a 1 being foreigners feeling very unwelcome and a 7 being foreigners feeling very welcome.   Ireland received a telling rating of 6.6 landing them in the top ten of most welcoming countries.  The study looked into 140 countries with the US making the bottom 40, and the UK falling in the middle.

The top ten most welcoming countries to foreigners , in order, was found to be Iceland, New Zealand, Morocco, Macedonia, Austria, Senegal, Portugal, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ireland and Burkina Faso.  The top ten most unwelcoming countries to foreigners, in order, was found to be Bolivia, Venezuela, Russian Federation, Kuwait, Latvia, Iran, Pakistan, Slovak Republic, Bulgaria and Mongolia. 

The United States found themselves nearing the bottom of the barrel at 102 even with a rating of 6.0.  The United Kingdom took the 55th spot with a rating of 6.4.
