Two teenagers have been arrested in relation to the savage attack of a Brazilian man, which took place on St. Patrick’s Day afternoon, on Aston Quay, in the center of Dublin.

On Monday, March 17, at about 3pm a young man was kicked in the head and knocked unconscious in an unprovoked street attack. The assault was captured by a passer-by on video and posted online.

The two boys, aged 16 and 17, were being held on Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at Pearse Street Garda Station on Thursday night.

The Irish Independent reported that investigating officers admitted “they were shocked by the savagery of the assault.”

They added that the assault appeared to be random and the victim, who is now recovering at home, was completely innocent. The victim was a 30 year old Brazilian student living in Dublin.
