I think hanging on by a strap would be good for Mr. O'Leary's business. Tie a strap around HIS neck and pull him about a foot off the floor and let him 'ride' that way for a flight or two. What a friggin' Idgit he is!

Flew Ryan Air once and never again. It was horrendous. Get him to try hanging onto a strap for flight from Dublint to Heathrow (chances of that happening are very slim)

Yes Michael is out of touch big time on this one , has he ever taken the subway in NYC I wonder , standing from wall st to grand central in rush hour is enough, and on a good day with no delays its a 20 minute train ride but once the doors open its like get me out of here .So no I cant imagine people standing on flights , has he not seen the videos of the United flight that had to make an emergency landing in denver after the plane hit turbulence and passengers went flying everywhere .
As for one pilot , hes wrong here too , the workload may be light when the aircraft is cruising but the workload during the approach and landing into JFK LGA or Newark is more than one pilot can handle . Sorry Michael , you can try and get around the IAA with this story but you aint flying a jet full of straphangers with one pilot while the FAA are in controlling things ..

Good luck getting that one past the FAA and the pilots unions. Although the gps/auto pilot features do take most of the guess work out, it is still cheap insurance to have a second pilot on board when you are in charge and responsible for the safety of thousands of people in your aircraft and on the ground.
