Police have arrested a man in connection to the murder of Eamon Kelly last Tuesday. Kelly, a notorious crime boss, was shot three times in broad daylight near his home in Killester, north of Dublin city.

Seán Connolly (34) from Bluebell, Dublin, was charged with the possession of a firearm and being a member of a number of illegal organizations, which style themselves on the Irish Republican Army (IRA), according to the Irish Times reports.

Connolly appeared before the Special Criminal Court on Friday, after 6pm, and was formally charged. Detective Sergeant Enda Mulryan told the court that he had arrested Connelly in Raheny, at 4.10pm, under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.

It is believed that Connolly is a member of Óglaigh na hÉireann, otherwise known as the IRA. Connolly was the prime suspect in Kelly’s murder. He had been questioned by the police about a shooting offense previously and has also served a prison sentence at Portlaoise maximum-security jail for a serious offence.

The Irish Independent reports that Kelly’s murder was thought to be part of an ongoing feud between terrorists and organized crime gangs in Dublin. This feud has resulted in several murders including that of Real IRA leader Alan Ryan in September.

Connolly was remanded in custody until December 20th.

bocktherobber I was posting on Connnolly not kelly can't you read!! BTW large quanities of cocaine was shipped into Ireland befoe Kelly was born, get some facts.
Seanomelb -- A little background for you. Kelly was one of the first to bring cocaine into Ireland in large quantities. Later he became an adviser to other criminals and was murdered by a drug gang styling itself the Real IRA when he refused to pay them extortion money.
Merefalow love to be judge, jury and eecutioner before Connolly has had a trial, neither has he been charged with any drug offences. If you wish to comment on Mexican drug lords write to a Mexican newspaper (if you dare).
ONLY WAY TO DEAL WITH PURVEYORS OF LIFE DESTROYING POISON.think about the young and courageous mexican judge who stood up to the drug dealers, her husband shot, herself dragged from her car in front of her 6 year old daughter, then raped and tortured and dumped on the roadside, she was 35,there is no war on drugs, just pretense, two american states have legalised it,skunk cannabis is a powerfull sychosis inducing carsinogenic evil drug,NOT HARMLESS as they try to say,WAR ON DRUGS ,REALY.
only way to deal with drug pushing lowlife, there is no war on drugs, just a pretend one,to much money,to much backhanders, the yanks have legalised the crap in two states, brits looking in to doing the same, dont worry about the lives it destroys ,just keep banking the money, anyone like the lovely young judge in mexico who stood up to them, both her and her husband murdered, and the people who are waging war on it,using taxpayers millions,(legalise it)WAR ON DRUGS,REALY.
For months, I have questioned whether there is collusion between the Ministry of Justice, Garda Siochana and organized crime gangs. There was too much of a concerted effort to round up the killers of Kelly and those who fired a volley at Alan Ryan's graveside. Not a word about an investigation into the murder of Ryan. The Blue Shirt government will learn the hard way about cooperating with mobsters. I thought that lesson was already learned.
